Dr. Simon Elias Bibri is Senior Researcher and Project Coordinator at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Institute of Computer and Communication Sciences (IINFCOM), School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC), Media and Design Laboratory (LDM), Dr. Bibri has a diverse professional background, having served as Head of Computer Department, Software Engineer, IT Business Engineer, Project Manager, Green ICT and Environmental Sustainability Strategist, Research Associate and Consultant, and Assistant Professor. Currently, he is serving as Expert in Smart Sustainable cities for United Nations International Telecommunication Union (ITU), International Expert in Sustainable Cities for United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Editor-in-Chief of Critical Insights in Environmental Studies at Francis and Taylor.


Dr. Bibri's academic journey is characterized by an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary background, spanning the intersection of science, technology, and society-namely, computer science, computer engineering, systems science, innovation science, environmental science, and social sciences. He earned multiple Master's degrees from distinguished Swedish universities, including Lund University, West University, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Malmö University, and Mid-Sweden University. He also holds a PhD in Computer Science and Sustainable Urban Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His scientific pursuits and expertise areas include smart sustainable cities, smart cities, sustainable cities, Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Urban Digital Twin (UDT), Internet of City Things (IoCT), Smart Urban Metabolism (SUM), circularity, platform urbanism, environmental planning and governance, environmental sustainability, and sustainability transitions. He is a prolific author with numerous journal articles, six authored books, two edited books, and four co-edited books to his accomplishment.


Anna Visvizi:
Anna Visvizi, PhD, dr hab., is an economist and political scientist, editor, researcher, and political consultant with extensive experience in academia, think-tank and government sectors in Europe and the United States, including the OECD. She is an Associate Professor at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Poland, and Visiting Professor at Effat University, Saudi Arabia. Her expertise covers issues pertinent to the intersection of politics, economics and ICT, especially AI and blockchain, in such domains as smart cities/smart villages, geopolitics, and business management.



Orlando Troisi
Orlando Troisi, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in Economics and Business Management at the University of Salerno. He is Director of the Observatory on Digital Transition and Member of the Board of Directors of the SIMAS Research Center, 'Systems for Innovation and Sustainability Management', University of Salerno. His research interests cover Services Marketing and Management, Strategic and Innovation Management, and Information Technology and Big Data Management. He published several articles in international journals (e.g., Industrial Marketing Management, Computers in Human Behavior, Marketing Theory, Land Use Policy, Journal of Behavior and Information Technology, and International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal). At present, he is Reviewer for several international journals. He is Associate Editor of European Journal of Innovation Management.
